College Lesson Learned #14

#14- If you’re angry with your homework don’t throw the papers you need, because then you have to go get them.

Common sense. I have never been a fan of homework, but I've always thought that I was a good student. In high school I got pretty much all A's and B's, but I rarely turned in my homework. In fact, my French teacher junior year would literally have the class applaud on the days in which I did the homework. So homework and I have never been in good relations.

I have learned that when you're angry at your homework you need an outlet in which to funnel those emotions. I was unhappy with a particular frustrating assignment, and at this point, I honestly couldn't tell you for which class it was due. I just remember that I was so frustrated that I tossed my notebook and folder to the other side of my bed, and unfortunately, papers went everywhere! I spent a couple minutes picking up the papers.

I have since grown out of my immature tendencies, and have since brought up my beach ball that is designed as the globe, and instead I throw that at the wall. It makes me feel good when I'm angry at French homework or South African history homework and I throw France or South Africa at the wall. Makes me feel good about myself.

Moral: Don't throw your homework. Throw the world. You'll feel better about yourself, and there isn't a mess when you're done.
